About

I build AI products that do good work.

I'm Lawrance Reddy — a Microsoft MVP in the AI Services (Foundry) category and CTO at Vaxowave, based in Durban, South Africa.

Most of my work sits at the intersection of Microsoft AI Foundry, agentic architectures, and field problems that would be expensive or impossible to solve without them. Two of those problems — verifying clean-energy and biodiversity impact in rural KwaZulu-Natal, and giving people access to South African government services in their own language — are the reason this blog exists.

I write here because there is a shortage of writing about what it actually takes to deploy AI in places where bandwidth is precious, trust is earned, and the failure mode is not "the user leaves a bad review" but "a grant cheque does not clear, or a grant application is never filed at all." The articles are practical and opinionated. Azure is specifically how I build, but the patterns — grounding, confidential ledgers, multilingual agents, offline-first — generalise.

What I build

  • ConservAxion — an Azure AI Foundry-backed platform that verifies clean-energy generation and biodiversity impact for funders and conservation partners. Pilot stage in KwaZulu-Natal.
  • Pfula — a conversational assistant that walks South Africans (in isiZulu and English) through SASSA, Home Affairs, SARS, UIF, municipal, deeds, and CIPC processes. Now running on Azure AI Foundry + the Agent Service.
